Due to the success and the subsequent long waiting list of the long-term Play-reading group, a small number of us were assisted in setting up a 2nd group which started January 2025. We run on democratic, shared responsibility lines with members taking it in turns to choose and cast the play, also, as far as possible, to share the hosting of the session in our own homes. We meet once a month on a Thursday morning. I hold the library list of play sets available and take responsibility for ordering and distributing. At the moment we are keeping the group size to 9 (mostly due to the size of our homes!).
We intend making a joint decision for the next academic year and may consider a) increasing slightly the size of the group ..... b) asking for a regular venue ... c) meeting more frequently i.e. fortnightly.
