This group aims to expand members' knowledge of local wild plants during walks in and around the town; identifying, recording and researching the plants found. Different habitats are explored each month, at different pre-arranged locations. Plants are identified with the aid of an App on a smart phone. The information gathered will be collated and further researched during the winter months, bringing the added benefit of improving gorup members' computer and internet research skills.
The first session will be on 3rd June. Meet at 2pm at the Castle entrance

Walks will be "unled" (have no knowledgeable person in the lead)

The group will meet monthly, on the first Monday of each month at 4-6pm (during British Summer Time) at a location to be decided each month.

Smart phones are required. Walks will be arranged by a WhatsApp group, and plants will be photographed and identified by means of a downloaded app such as SEEK. The information will be recorded.

During the winter months when walking is not so easy, a sub-group may be established to collate the information collected and devise a Wild Flowers of Lewes information sheet/website/Instagram account.

If the group agrees, occasional talks from trained botanists could be arranged.
