Holiday to Norfolk 2026
The sun shone for our departure to Norfolk.
Meeting Dave our driver,we left Lewes for our first coffee stop, Angelsey Abbey.and Lode water mill
From a monastic priory founded in 1135, to a comfortable country house, it was an interesting visit.
On we drove to Norwich and our comfortable hotel, our base for four nights.

Next day we met our blue badge guide, who took us on a walking tour of Norwich, taking in such sites as the cathedral and the castle.
After lunch,we were off to Fellbrig Hall.
An interesting house served over centuries by generations of the Windham family.
Day 3, and a trip on the Broads.

It was cold, damp and windy on the top deck but we were rewarded with beautiful scenery.
Off to Blickling estate next and pleased to get indoors as the promised rain had arrived.

Our next day saw us at the royal estate of Sandringham, with acres of magnificent grounds.
We were allowed to visit the ground floor of the house, and the little church where the royal family worship when on their breaks to Sandringham.

After which we boarded our coach, for a scenic drive along the north Norfolk coast.
Leaving our hotel en route for home,we visited the magnificent Ely cathedral.
An enormous place of worship.
Tired but I think happy,we headed for home, arriving back in Lewes early evening.
Next year we plan to go to Cheshire and the Welsh borders, come and pick up a brochure on open day.
