French 1 is not meeting over summer, but will be back in October 2025.
We have no tutor, so the members devise the programme for this intermediate group.
For half of each meeting, we read out loud and translate our French book, decided by the members
For the other half of the meeting, we may choose a topic in advance for a group discussion, or members may take it in turns to volunteer to give us a talk in French. These are generally illustrated by various means and are on a French-related topic of their choice.
Members organise games or a quiz, or lead us in singing a French song, or in discussing a grammar topic. We also watch a French film and play a game of Scrabble in French each term.
