Film Appreciation 2

We are continuing to meet in Spring 2026, beginning on the 15th April for five weekly sessions.

As with the original Film Appreciation Group, we are a screening-and-discussion group which aims to explore a wide spectrum of feature-length films not commonly shown in mainstream cinemas. These films will be themed in 5-week blocks linked by e.g. genre, country, director, star, studio etc. Our spring 2026 block of 5 films is yet to be confirmed.

Films in languages other than English will be a significant part of our future plans, so it is important for participants to be able to enjoy subtitled films on a relatively small screen.

The programme will be decided by the group and each member can take a turn at presenting background information and leading a discussion of an individual film.
