We are planning to reassemble on October 7th for a ten week programme, and hope to have a presence at the U3A open day in September. A further ten week programme will begin in January 2026.
We are a discussion group which aims to explore a spectrum of films not commonly shown in mainstream cinemas. We have recently been considering Czech and Italian films and looked at the body of work of individual directors.
Foreign language films have dominated our attention over the last few years and will be a significant part of our future plans, so it is important for participants to be able to enjoy sub-titled films on a small screen.
The programme is decided by the group and each member takes a turn at presenting written information and leading a discussion of an individual film.
There is a waiting list to join this course, but expressions of interest would be welcome and we should like to support the convening of a second group if a convenor could be found .
